How Jeffrey Nemecek Became a Public Finance Legal Eagle

It’s been a long time since Jeffrey Nemecek graduated from Hamilton College, which is located in Clinton, New York. That happened in 1970 and he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree. Then, he went on to obtain his Juris Doctor from University of Chicago Law School in 1974. He has been admitted to practice in five states, overall, including Alabama, where he was admitted in 1975; New York, where he was admitted in 1977; Minnesota, where he started practicing in 1984; Florida, where he passed the Bar in 1987; and New Jersey, where he has had a license since 1989.

Overall, Jeffrey Nemecek has more than 30 years’ experience in the practice of law, primarily in the areas of public and project financing. Besides forming and running his own named firm, the Law Offices of Jeffrey A. Nemecek, which he formed in 1992 and ran through 1997, Jeffrey has worked with a number of other very prominent firms, primarily in their public financing practice. These days, he can be found as a Counsel at Denton’s in New York City, where he is primarily addressing the Puerto Rico fiscal crisis and debt restructuring, but he has also been Of Counselor a Partner at Axiom Legal, from 2011-2016, Tillinghast Lichtenstein LLP, from 2006-2008, and about a half dozen other prominent firms he’s worked with since 1976.

Because of his accumulated experience and his education, which may be why Jeffrey Nemecek is also a prolific researcher and writer on issues related to public financing, especially municipal bonds, tax issues and many others, and he has been published in a large number of peer-reviewed journals in those areas. Jeffrey Nemecek also is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers, and he has been listed in The Who’s Who in American Law and Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America at various times.
